EMR DURING MY PRESIDENCY:

•   Organized the 5th Conference of EMR-IBS held in May 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. Approximately 400 biostatisticians from 40 different countries participated.

•    As the President of EMR, together with Havi Murad, the Treasurer, participated in the XII Conference of the Spanish Region of the IBS in Cádiz, Spain in September 2009, to support and advance the network activities between EMR, Spain and Italy.

•    Initiated that EMR will be one of the collaborators of the summer school on Hierarchical Models in Izmir , which is held  regularly every year, with the collaboration of Ege University, Hacettepe University and  University of Southampton. Starting 2014 this summer school is an EMR activity.

•  In the closing session of the 6th EMR-IBS Conference, which was held in Crete, Greece in 2011, I put forward the goal of hosting the IBC2014 Conference in one of the EMR countries. I prepared a proposal and sent it to IBS Office, which invited two regions, EMR and Italian Region to prepare a final detailed proposal for the IBC2014. Italian Region was the winner.

• One of the goals of EMR should be to hold the IBC2018 or IBC2020 Conference.
